If you we around in the 90s then maybe you can attest to the fact that there weren’t that many heroes or celebrities to look up to, of course we had the A-team, McGyver, Michael Jackson, Michael Schumacher to name but a few, but the name Arnold Schwarzenegger was and still is one of those biggest icons that changed TV bodybuilding and entertainment in more ways than one. Growing up as a teenager I always had pictures of the Terminator or Konan on my wall but the thought of finally meeting him is overwhelming.
The Arnold Classic in a huge annual event and this year it will be hitting our shores in Johannesburg. The Sandton Conventional Centre will be abuzz this coming weekend from the 27-29th of May 2016. This event will surely be a great way of winding up Africa month and Senator Schwarzenegger will be there in person to inspire the world as he always does, in fact he will be landing at the OR Tambo airport on Thursday. This will be the first time that the sport of Blackball pool will be featured in an event of this magnitude, the closest we have come to the Olympics I suppose.
All 32 BPL players and promotion candidates will converge in Johannesburg on Thursday night as well to ready themselves for the action that will be starting on Friday. Charl will be looking for that Hat-trick, Kyle will be seeking to correct the in-season mistakes and Hawkeye will be hoping to mark his 40th in grand style but we still have an Aden Joseph in the mix, Allister Fortuin could be that dark horse that nobody sees coming and Paul Bennett will be quietly dealing with the boys and taking no prisoners.
