From May 2019 the Chinese Pool Events will comprise the Super League, Masters Qualifiers, Exhibitions by International Stars and National Leagues/championships.
1. SUPER LEAGUE
The remaining 6 Chinese Pool Super League tournaments from May 2019 will be held in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town. Each city will host two tournaments:
Car Comp #6: Johannesburg / 18 May 2019
Car Comp #7: Cape Town / 06 July 2019
Car Comp #8: Johannesburg / 03 August 2019
Car Comp #9: Durban / 07 September 2019
Car Comp #10: Cape Town / 05 October 2019
Car Comp #11: Durban / 02 November 2019
- JOY Table leasing policy:
- The lessee must:
- Sign a contract for a minimum period of 1 year
- Pay a deposit of R 7 000 per table
- Pay the monthly rent of R 1200 per table timeously.
- A new lessee who rents 2 tables simultaneously qualifies for 1 month’s free rental.
- A new lessee who rents 3 or more tables simultaneously qualifies for 2 month’s free rental.
- A lessee qualifies for 2 spots per JOY Table for each car competition.
- A lessee may accumulate the entry quota in the Super League and carry it over for use at any of the remaining car competitions.
- The lessee must:
- Leasing incentives:
- Lease 4 JOY Tables and qualify to host an exhibition with a top player from the Chinese Dream Team.
- Lease 8 JOY Tables and qualify to host an exhibition with the legendary Gareth Potts.
- Lease 16 JOY Tables and qualify to host an exhibition with the King of the Crucible, Stephen Hendry.
- According to the JOY Table rental policy, the top club in each of the 3 cities, as determined by JOY Billiards SA, will be selected to host the Super League.
- Rules and regulations – amendments:
- A new ranking system will be adopted for the next 6 car competitions, as follows:
- The top 32 ranked players will give all other players a two-ball handicap.
- All male players, outside the top 32, will give all women and junior (under 18) players a one-ball handicap.
- When a player meets a top 32 ranked player, there will be no lag. The player outside the top 32 will have the option to break.
- The new break rule will be that the top 32 ranked players will need to comply with a two-point break rule and all other players with a one-point break rule.
- A new ranking system will be adopted for the next 6 car competitions, as follows:
2. MASTERS QUALIFIERS
2.1. As per the JOY rental policy, all venues with JOY tables qualify to host mini qualifiers.
2.2. The best clubs in each of the 3 cities, as determined by JOY Billiards South Africa, will be selected to host the main Masters qualifiers for the following events:
- Linyi – 08 to 18 April 2019
- Lianyungang – 5 to 15 July 2019
- Huanan – 8 to 18 August 2019
- International Open – September 2019
- Qidong – 24 October to 3 November 2019
- WeMasters Overseas Qualifier – January 2020
2.3. The winner and runner-up of the main qualifiers will get a round-trip ticket to each of the events (as listed in 2.2)
2.4. The number 1 ranked player in South Africa qualifies to attend the World Chinese Pool Masters Grand Finals. All expenses will be paid for by JOY Billiards.
2.5. The Champion of the qualifier in the Arnold Classic Africa qualifies to attend the World Chinese Pool Masters Grand Finals. All expenses will be paid for by JOY Billiards.
3. EXHIBITIONS BY INTERNATIONAL STARS
The International Star will spend 2 nights at each of the qualifying venues. The activity will not only be limited to exhibition challenges, but the qualifying venue can also carry out commercial activities, coaching, interactive games, autograph/group photo sessions, banquet and so on, but these additional activities are for the account of the venue.
4. SPECTATOR / VIEWER / FOLLOWER PRIZES
The Super League, Masters Qualifiers and Exhibitions by International Stars will be streamed live on the official Facebook group (JOY Chinese Pool South Africa). During these events JOY Billiards will conduct prize winning activities where vouchers (from R 50 to R 1000) can be won by viewers etc.
5. SOUTH AFRICAN CHINESE POOL ASSOCIATION
5.1. Venues with JOY Tables will be eligible to conduct leagues under the jurisdiction of the South African Chinese Pool Association (SACPA)
5.2. SACPA will host a National Chinese Pool Championship annually.
5.3. The top ranked players in the National Chinese Pool Championship will be selected to participate in Continental and World Chinese pool championships.
